Grand Haven Scrap Drive May 3rd & 4th

Come out and support the Grand Haven area charities at the 1st CRC scrap drive on Friday May 3 and Saturday May 4. All scrap metal and electronics will be accepted as donations. Freon recovery for fridges, air conditioners and dehumidifiers will be available on-site for donated items. Collection will take place at 516 S. Ferry St. in Grand Haven!

Recycling Tips for You

Auto Bodies: must have the title signed off. Tires may be removed in the yard (added charges could apply for fluid removal).
Aluminum: should be free of all non-conforming materials such as: glass, steel, zinc, plastic, adhesive, etc. to be considered clean.
Aluminum rims: to be considered clean they must be free of iron, wheel weights, valve stems, center caps and steel inserts.

Batteries: Lead acid only. (No alkaline, lithium, or nickel cadmium).
Cast Iron: less than 2' x 2' in all directions to be considered prepared.
Radiators: must be free of iron and plastic to be considered clean.
Copper No. 1 wire (single strand): must be thicker than a No. 2 pencil lead with no plating or insulation.

No. 1 copper tube/solids: must not have any paint, solder, heavy corrosion, contain oil, brass valves or connectors to be considered clean.
Brass: must be free of iron, plastic, rubber, and stainless to be considered clean.
Electric motors: no sealed units, ballasts, excess iron or plastic attachments, wood, circuit boards or small hand tools.

Freon: must be recovered from all cooling appliances and auto bodies (charges could be applied if Freon is present).
Foundry Steel: must be less than 2’x2’ in all directions including diagonal and minimum of 1/8” thick.
Stainless: must be less than 4’x2’ in all directions to be considered prepared.
