Padnos is now providing electronics recycling services to customers at each of our retail yards as well as to corporate customers.      

Currently, electronic waste accounts for approximately 2% of the overall waste in US landfills, but over 70% of overall toxic waste. In particular, CRT monitors and computers are filled with toxins such as lead, cadmium, and mercury that must be handled responsibly to avoid contamination of surrounding areas and waterways.

 

Padnos will now collect electronic scrap to be processed in facilities that concentrate on capturing all toxic elements for proper disposal and/or reuse.

Many of the materials that make up electronics are recyclable; breaking these materials down to their base components, however, has proven to be a challenge. This has led some Electronic Recyclers to export hazardous materials overseas, utilizing cheap labor to dismantle the equipment.
